Florian Rohn has been blessed with the rare gift of captivating and inspiring audiences through his
artistry. His performances enchant listeners with their intensity and emotional depth, creating
unforgettable, soul-stirring experiences.
Born in Germany, Florian Rohn began cello lessons at the age of five and soon discovered his
lifelong passion for music. After attending the Music Gymnasium Schloss Belvedere in Weimar, he
was accepted into the Franz Liszt University of Music Weimar for highly gifted students at the age
of 17. There he studied under distinguished teachers such as Brunhard Böhme, Johannes Goritzki,
Patrick Demenga, and Thomas Grossenbacher. He was also profoundly influenced by violinists
Daniel Hope and Pierre Amoyal, with whom he frequently performed as both a soloist and a
chamber musician on international stages.
The Romantic repertoire holds a special place in Florian Rohn’s heart. His artistry is documented in
numerous CD and radio recordings that have received international acclaim. Among them, his
premiere recording of William Wordsworth’s Cello Concerto with conductor John Gibbons and the
Liepaja Symphony Orchestra in Latvia was particularly praised by critics.
In addition to his concert career, Florian Rohn is a passionate educator. He is frequently invited to
give masterclasses in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and at the Music Academy of Latvia, where
he shares his knowledge and inspires the next generation of musicians.
As a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player, Florian Rohn has appeared with leading
orchestras and at prestigious festivals including the Bodensee Festival, the Bregenz Festival, the
BBC Proms in London, the Lucerne Festival, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, the Schleswig-Holstein
Musik Festival, and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.
A significant milestone in his artistic and personal journey was the founding of the Arnicans Duo in
2013. The ensemble quickly gained recognition for its distinctive musical partnership and has since
been celebrated for its expressive and refined performances.
Today, Florian Rohn stands out as a cellist of exceptional talent and integrity. His profound
dedication to his craft, combined with his ability to move and inspire audiences, has established him
as a remarkable figure in the international music world.
